Prenatal & Postpartum Massage in Milton
Gentle, pregnancy-adapted massage therapy with Lisa Puleo, RMT — more than 15 years of experience, including maternity care at North York General Hospital.
Comfortable, careful care for every stage of pregnancy.
Your body changes week to week during pregnancy, so your massage should too. Lisa adapts positioning, pressure and focus to where you are — most often side-lying with supportive pillows, so you and baby are comfortable for the whole session.
Before treatment she'll ask about your pregnancy, how you're feeling and any guidance from your doctor or midwife. Care follows College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) guidelines, and continues after delivery with postpartum massage to support your recovery.
Common Pregnancy Discomforts We Treat

Lisa Puleo, RMT
Lisa has been helping Milton moms-to-be feel better for years. Her experience in maternity care at North York General Hospital gave her a deep understanding of how pregnancy affects the body — and how to treat it safely and comfortably.
She's known for a methodical, client-centred approach: she'd rather ask a few extra questions upfront than guess. Lisa holds a Diploma in Massage Therapy from Elmcrest College (2008) and has additional training in tension headaches and myofascial trigger points.

Questions Expecting Moms Ask
When can I start prenatal massage?
Massage can be adapted to every stage of pregnancy. Many clients begin in the second trimester, but you are welcome sooner. At your first visit Lisa will ask about your pregnancy and any guidance from your doctor or midwife, and adjust treatment to suit.
How will I be positioned during the massage?
Most prenatal treatments are done side-lying, supported by pillows under your head, belly and between your knees. Semi-reclined positioning is also an option. Comfort comes first, and you can ask to change position at any time.
Is prenatal massage covered by insurance?
Most extended health plans cover massage therapy by a Registered Massage Therapist. We offer direct billing depending on your provider, so bring your insurance information to your first appointment. Otherwise we provide a receipt you can submit for reimbursement.
Do you offer postpartum massage?
Yes. Postpartum massage helps with the neck, shoulder and back strain of feeding, lifting and carrying your baby, and supports your body as it recovers after delivery.
How long should my appointment be?
Prenatal and postpartum sessions are available in 30, 45 and 60 minute lengths. 60 minutes allows for a full-body treatment; 30 minutes works well for one focused area.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Bring your insurance information and wear something comfortable. Let us know about any changes in your health or pregnancy before each visit.
Insurance & Coverage
